election in himachal pradesh 2022

Himachal Pradesh has the polls on 12th November 2022. It is believed that the voters will play a vital role in the final count. It is stated that the previous assembly elections that was held in 2017 had the highest-ever turnout of the voters with around 76% in the electoral history of Himachal Pradesh.

The last challenger – the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) swept the whole poll game by sealing 44 assembly seats out of the total 68. The total vote share of the BJP was at the impressive 49%.

This huge voter turnout in 2017 was resulted a historic victory for the BJP. The leading party in the state that time grabbed only 21 seats which was 7% lower that the newly won party – the BJP. The outcomes of that election clearly showcased that people voted for the anti-incumbency only.

But parties were often asking if the higher voter turnout is actually creating issues for the incumbent equations? Will such a turnout change the hill state’s game again? As per the experts, 7 out of 13 assembly seats have witnessed a higher percentage of the turnout voters in Himachal Pradesh in the last elections.

To understand this game-changing fact better, just look at the following example. In the assembly elections of 2017, 56 seats out of the total 68 recorded turnouts which were above average. This turnout was the reasons why the BJP came out as the biggest party among all. If we talk about the winning percentage, it was around for the BJP. In the rest 12 seats, other parties shared the percentage.

Before 2017 assembly election, 2012 was also a roller coaster ride for many parties. It is because 43 seats out of the total number faced the voter turnout more than the average. In this challenge, the Congress won 22 seats (51% was the winning total). However, the remaining seats were not have bigger turnouts of the voters.

When it comes to the analysis in terms of the assembly, it shows that the voters are always leading factors to make a huge change. The BJP is the biggest national party at the moment, while the Congress and other parties are trying to get their bases again. To help the Congress gain people’s trust, Rahul Gandhi is already on the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Every congress supporter is hoping to get some positive results after this.

However, who will win more seats and who is stay behind in the game will be clear when the counting of this assembly election will happen. But yes, the voters turnout is again expected to bring some unusual changes this time too.
