Last night around 2 am in the morning, earthquakes hits hard and let the people wake up in the middle of the night. According to the reports, around 6-7 people have been died and 6 have been severely injured and admitted in the hospital in this earthquake in the Far-West of Nepal’s Doti District.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the magnitude was 6.3 and the epicenter was in the around 90km in south east of Uttrakhand’s Pithoragarh (the Nepal border). The tremors of this earthquake were also felt in the neighbor country India, left everyone in shock.
The incident hits everyone around 2am and sent tremors into the different northern states of India. When it comes to Nepal, several houses were damaged. According to local authorities, they are trying their best to help casualties and assess the damage happened.
The story does not end with this quake as another earthquake hits the Nepal within 24 hours of the first. The magnitude was 4.5. The epicenter of this earthquake was around 155 km of the Kathmandu and the depth of the same was 100km – according to the data of NCS.
This tremor hits hard to Delhi and nearby places around 1.57am. Numerous people who felt this tremor said that they are horrified with the incident. Besides, a person said that we were getting off an auto when we felt the tremors. The auto driver also got scared, and as I looked around, I could see others felt it too. It stopped soon after.
An auto driver also expressed his views on this quake. He said that I was taking a passenger on the ride. We felt the tremors of the earthquake. The passenger de-boarded immediately. We felt it for quite some time.
After this quake, social media started having vides and posts about it. Many people shared videos of shaking fences and swaying lights. This was not the first time when Nepal has seen such a drastic quake. In 2015 April, Nepal was hit by an earthquake with the magnitude of 7.8.
It was one of the deadliest incidents ever recorded in the history of Nepal as around 9000 people died in it and over half a millions of houses destroyed.
After this latest quake, Sher Bahadyr Deuba, the Prime Minister of Nepal expressed his heartfelt condolences. He tweeted and said that expressing my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who died in the earthquake, which was centred in the Khaptad region of Far West. Also, I have instructed the relevant agencies to arrange immediate and proper treatment of the injured and the victims in the relief and rescue in the affected areas. We also hope that the number of deaths and damages do not go up.
